Day One Hundred Ninety One: July 9
Today is our seventh wedding anniversary. In days gone by this would be an occasion for a fancy restaurant and a candlelight dinner. Now, at this time in our lives, it’s an occasion for eating dinner in shifts due to the demands of childcare, and “romantic” evenings by the light from the bathroom passing through the door crack while Mommy feeds J for the second time in a night.
But, as you see here, there are cards. And there is still love, harried and flustered and exhausted as we may be; even my tie is still thrown on the bed from the end of my workday. And one day we’ll look back on this seventh anniversary and say “Remember when…”
