Day One Hundred Fifty Eight: June 6
Seeking to save money, buy local, and above all eat healthy, we split a share with a friend in Great Country Farms in Bluemont, Virginia. Our half share entitles us to weekly delivery of whatever the farm has in that week. The first delivery came this week; kale, zucchini, squash, onions, radishes, a basil plant, and as you see here, tart cherries. Yummy! This is a perfect treat for after the kids go to bed.
(Now please excuse me while I clean the cherry juice off the keyboard.)

That’s better. Thanks for your patience.
We’re excited about whatever else will come from the farm this year! We get a weekly delivery June through October, with access to other pick-your-own specials like pumpkins in October and Christmas trees in December. I’m looking forward to fresh local veggies and fruits.
